Today is my 32nd birthday.
A couple of years ago I began an account that I kept on my mobile of absurdly adult things I had no idea I would do or say, as well as funny little indicators that make me think of my old age. The list may seem as if life has taken an uninteresting direction, but it’s an enjoyable experience, and I’m enjoying my 30s to this point. We do have acquaintances, enjoy dates as well as go to concerts as well as travel and go to occasionally to parties but these events happen less frequently than they did in the past. That’s why I love those moments more. Things are much clearer and definitely not vanilla this moment, either. I’m celebrating my 32nd birthday here in Cologne, Germany!
In the end, I thought instead of a sad reflective blog about the year that was and what’s to come (I’ll save that for the start of the new year) I’d post this list with the hope to inspire you to smile or look at your feet in agreement! Hope you enjoy xo
32 Signs that I’m 32 AF:
- Late nights can last until 11 at night. It’s hilarious considering that we were leaving to go to the club at 11 pm in the past.
- I’m acutely aware of the absurdity buying at Forever21.
- What I do is read the hard news every night (although nowadays it’s like you’re forced to read the news).
- More involved in the changes in the political landscape, social change and the world’s future more than ever before.
- The truth is it is that Adam and I have a shared car is as it’s convenient for us. It’s also a small SUV!
- As a night owl for the rest of my life that magically wakes up at 7 am (or earlier) often and nearly voluntarily.
- Due to my circumstances, I had into adding a loungewear section to my wardrobe to make a distinction between casual clothing and pajamas.
- Hangovers last for a minimum of 2 days and I typically prepare for them ahead of time.
- Around 85percent of my friends have kids or are pregnancies and I am thrilled to be an auntie!
- However, I have a note in my phone, with possible baby names.
- It’s true that Adam as well as I own an extensive list of “before kids” places to go on vacation as well as “with children” travel places.
- I no longer have the patience for people who are super toxic/negative/overwhelming/fake. I can’t hide my disgust for these people IRL. You guys are bad.
- The process of keeping track of adult matters such as my finances and my period as well as the amount of food I consume.
- Not being able to get rid of the greys, they’ve started taking over.
- I consider the wearing of high heels as to be akin to torture and if I must to wear them, I’ll will have some sneakers at hand!
- It can be a bit confusing when I am watching a movie or television show that I grew up with and discover that the characters that I considered “old” actually are my age. am.
- If a meme or phrase is mentioned and I do not know, understand or find amusing.
- My birthdays aren’t the whole week long celebration they were in the past. I am just happy for having made it to yet another time LOL. But, having a celebration in Cologne is something else entirely.
- What I’ve learned about setting rules for the first time. I am learning do say “no” to everything without guilt!
- Realizing that this whole competition looking good is BS. A stunning appearance, marriage, awesome excursions, a prestigious job title, beautifully decorated homes, but, like do you really feel happy?
- The reality of my physical body essentially changed to my body (I’ll blame my background in dance as well as sitting at a desk all day and also being distracted by my mobile too much) So I must consult my RMT and chiropractor to treat my issues.
- That I truly feel super young, but I discover myself using offensive words with younger generations, like “just you wait and watch how old you’ll get, as when you’re older than me …” and looking at myself for being ridiculous.
- My wishlist of shopping lists useful items such as an expensive vacuum cleaner or luggage, eco-friendly kitchen equipment that is reusable, etc.
- The children I taught dance to at the age of four are now nearing the age of twenty.
- The reason I mail Christmas cards to my tiny family. It always makes me feel extremely grown-up.
- Being aware enough to recognize I had to see a therapist and that it’s a lifetime practice.
- What can I hear in the song featuring. Lil Pump, and it sounds incredibly ridiculous saying “Lil pump” out loud. Not even knowing who this person is.
- Being at ease with the slow speed of living.
- For instance, I’d prefer a relaxed dinner and drinks at a friends’ house with great conversation, rather than an evening out.
- If I ask my kids what age they think you are and they respond with 40+ (but I don’t want to be insulted since other kids might think 16 is the same age and, to them, that’s old LOL).
- I’m feeling like my 10th high school reunion was just yesterday and realizing our 20th year isn’t too distant. Twenty years. This is truly insane.
- Since I know they have added Jeopardy into Netflix Canada and we’ve been watching it for hours. My Nana would have been happy!
