4 MASCARAS THAT DON’T TOTALLY SUCK*

*In my humble and completely non-beauty-related-professional opinion!

Things I’d like a decent mascara to achieveare:

1. My lashes appear just a little longer than their original long stubby form.
2. Increased volume so they don’t appear as solitary as I think they do, particularly when I lose lots at once and get freaked out over going bald.
3. According to the second point, mascaras shouldn’t cause excessive loss of the lashes. I don’t want that kind of negative impact on my life.
4. Do not flake out and pour black specs all over my face throughout the day long. My eyes are dark enough, don’t you think? I’m not comfortable with tiny mascara clumps sprinkled on my skin.
5. It has to be water-proof to last for a long time, however, it isn’t impossible to be washed off. I hate it when mascara isn’t able to be removed using my easy makeup removal routine.

I’m indifferent about slight mascara clumping. Yes, I wish to appear as if I have only three big mascara lashes, but I do not want to appear as if I don’t have any mascara anyhow. It’s not a shame to admit my dependence on my cosmetic. There’s no reason to try difficult to achieve mascara. She’s always my first priority.

Regarding application, I began applying mascara primer a few months back (thanks for the tip mom!) and have been forever changed. It keeps my mascara in place with vibrant color and plenty of volume. It can dry out my waterproof mascaras (but helps protect my actual eyelashes from getting damaged) therefore, to clean it off, I wash my face with warm water and apply my fingers to dampen the lashes prior to using makeup remover and washing my face.

I’m aware that the appearance of mascara preference, style, and performance are all different However, here are a few of my personal favorites.

LANCOME Grandiose Extreme

I received this tiny jewel in a box from Nordstrom’s beauty counter in the year it opened on the first day of Vancouver I’ve been purchasing it since. The wand is small and curvaceous with two bristles, but it does a great job! It will take a few times before you get used to it, but the level of the curl and lift that is achieved with this mascara is amazing! Apply it daily, along in conjunction with the primer, obviously.

L’Oreal Voluminous Original

It’s the OG mascara I wore in my adulthood. I started to spruce things up and got the Voluminous primer it . It’s fantastic! This mascara is an excellent alternative if you’re on a budget. even with the additional primer price, both are less expensive than one of the other mascaras I’ve reviewed. It’s not as good to my Lancome favorites but it’s still able to perform very well and gives a slightly more natural appearance than other brands.

LANCOME Monsieur Big

I’m not sure what kind of magic Lancome uses to create such incredible mascaras, but they do get two of my top four suggestions! Mr. Large is like Grandiose Extreme in terms of performance. The difference is because it’s a bigger tool. This is my preferred choice for nights out!

Marc Jacobs’s Beauty Velvet Noir

Let me tell you, I really wanted to include this on the list since I owned an entire tube of MJ Velvet Noir and remember admiring it. I would have not taken notes when I was younger because I’m unable to recall the exact details of it however I do know that I went through the whole product and thought I’d buy it again. I’d like to take a small tub of it to get acquainted.

As I said I’m not a beauty expert If you have any suggestions I’d be interested in hearing about your thoughts! I’ve read positive reviews of certain Benefit or Tarte mascaras. Have you used any of them? I’m really interested but it’s always difficult to go off the path of the formulas I’ve been using for years. Additionally, I’ve tried several natural mascaras, and they’re not even near to the thick mascara style I like, but If you’ve come across a natural beauty mascara that gives an impressive volume or length, please share the information along.
