4 SHAVING TIPS FOR SUMMER

GOODBYE RAZOR SMOTH LEGS, BURN, HELLO

It was April and I went on two consecutive beach holidays and it was truly an amazing experience. The winter had just come to an end and my skin had not experienced sunlight for at least six months. Although it was great to wear bikinis for three months and experience the warmth from the sun’s rays, I went home with a painful burn from a razor as well as ingrown hairs and tan, however, extremely dry and rough skin. It’s quite a challenge for skin to deal with the increased amount of shaving, chemical-laden swimming pool water, as well as daily application of sunscreen, and honestly I didn’t take any action in the beginning to reduce the adverse effects that came from the chemicals in pool water.

There were some difficult lessons to learn, however I’ve since made subtle adjustments to my shaving regimen as well as my skin never improved after shaving!

In collaboration in collaboration with Schick and AVEENO I’m sharing few of these recently discovered tricks and tips along with my top tools for achieving an easier shave as well as healthier and more youthful skin. This is just right in time for the summer season!

Choose A Quality Razor

The razor you use is a key factor in achieving an even shaving. It was fun to play with a variety different Schick razors, particularly their brand new Schick Intuition f.a.b that can cut forwards and backwards safely that is absolutely amazing! My current favorites? My current favourites? Schick Quattro is a classic and has been my favorite for a long time. It has a pivoting head as well as four blades, it comes with a lubricating strip that can aid in reducing irritation and vitamin E. I also love this Schick Intuition, which lathers and shaves to create a fantastic 2-in-1 combination. Also , it has 4 blades as well as an adjustable head that moves along the contours of your body. Additionally, it moisturizes as you shave. It will feel absolutely wonderful to your legs!

Be sure to switch the blades as you need to. Blades that are blurred increase the risk of cutting yourself and can ensure that a clean shave is extremely difficult!

Take Care During the Process

This may sound a bit obvious, but aren’t we taking our time when fast washing our feet in the bath? It’s part of my everyday routine, yet I’m in the habit of doing it too quickly certain days. Concentration is the best method to avoid scrapes and cuts even during those sleepy mornings, simply going through the motions. Make sure you are not going in the direction of growth of your hair unless you’re a bit vulnerable and susceptible to developing ingrown hairs within the area, then it’s fine to move with the exact direction. Also, take your time and try to make shorter shaving strokes in difficult places like knees and ankles (or specifically, for myself, my Psoriasis area on my knee that you may have observed). They are certainly the places where I could end having painful cuts because I was rushing!

Exfoliate

Hope this isn’t too tinny However, while at the beach the bikiniline was shaved almost every all day, and it resulted in an embarrassing and painful razor burns. What I didn’t know is that exfoliating prior to shaving can remove dead skin and can help reduce the possibility of razor burn. After I came at home, I exfoliated and within a few hours, the bumps had disappeared! I’ve been using this routine on my arms and legs and it’s been incredible It’s been amazing! My favorite is AVEENO Positively Radiant Exfoliating Body Wash which I’m going to always put in a convenient container for travel and take for beach excursions! It’s gentle and moisturizing, and can be applied using your hands, like you would any other body wash. It really works and I highly recommend it!

Moisturize Often

I decided to make it part of my routine to moisturize when I’m dry. It started because my skin was dry and peeling due to exposure to the sun however it’s something I’m going to try to maintain all year long. The AVEENO positively radiant Body Lotion now lives on the counter in our bathroom to keep it in use for a long time and certainly has been effective. Don’t worry about scaly legs anymore for this woman!

The products listed are all accessible in Shoppers Drug Mart. If there are shaving tips I’ve left out or if you have any concerns please tell me about it in the comments section below!
