Here’s everything you should learn about this amazing yoga breakfast and bed at Bowen Island, just an hour’s drive from Vancouver!
This was a wonderful stay at Nectar Yoga B&B However, as always my opinions and obsession with Nectar are entirely my own.
I hold an intimate space in my soul for Nectar and the lovely staff who manage the business. Alex as well as I went to their first Bowen Island location back in September of 2016 and enjoyed the most incredible couple of days (I even recorded a vlog about it, which you can watch it right here). This was my first time attending a yoga retreat and it was an absolute joy.
They’ve since relocated to a larger area of land, and constructed an impressive new Nectar 2.0. You’ll feel the tension from your shoulders disappear when you drive down the gravel drive. The brand-new location is on 20 acres of beautiful Bowen Island and features various stunning cottages that are Instagram-worthy, a large Yoga Dome as well as a stunning common area/main cabin, walking trails, and a total sensation of being in nature amid the majestic Pacific Northwest trees.
Yoga Yoga
I can’t say enough wonderful reviews about Yoga at Nectar. Andrea has been one of my favorite yoga instructors and, believe me when I say I’ve practiced many yoga classes. She is always able to pinpoint exactly what you want from every class. She offers the perfect balance of working out and keeping you calm and relaxed. The Yoga Dome is also an unforgettable and unique location for your yoga. If you are staying for two nights, as we did, you will receive 4 yoga classes in addition to meditations in the morning or evening. Andrea is also an expert when it comes to guided meditation. She told the group she meditates for up to an hour almost every morning. Her calm energy and extensive experience make sessions with her highly effective and rejuvenating.
The overall experience was a 10/10. If you’re a yoga enthusiast or perhaps an escape to recharge, Nectar is a must. It’s a great idea for an individual retreat or bonding with a friend or partner or a small group. If I was employed by a business I would definitely suggest Nectar as a possibility for an upcoming team retreat!
Additionally, I’m considering making a guidebook for Bowen Island, would you be interested in it too? Please let me know.
