It’s the time to host!

This post is a collaboration in partnership with Value Village Thrift. As always, the opinions expressed are mine alone.

Collaboration together with Value Village has been one of my top collaborations of the year. Although I’ve been a Value Village thrifter for a long time, the process of developing content specifically for thrift stores over the past 6 months has been awe-inspiring. I have loved looking for secondhand goods with a specific theme in your mind. It has made me realize that I am a sucker for the excitement of hunting and has pushed me to look in parts of the store that I wouldn’t normally have thought of The frequent visits have helped me be awed by the art of thrifting over and over.

This month, I’d like to share some items I came across that inspired me to revamp our table decorations for the holidays and other essentials of hosting!

I’d been searching for vintage-looking candlesticks and these silver ones are just ideal. I even found the candles! This was the inspiration for the rest of my table decorations for the holidays using a mix of metals. I love this tiny brass tray. It’s the perfect size to display ornaments such as mercury glass candle votives and this cute tiny nutscracker. You can also place items such as salt and pepper, and the cranberry sauceor even a gravy boat on the tray, making serving these items at the dining table much more easy. I love these small elements at the table and am thrilled to have discovered these fresh-to-me items at such a low cost!

I was thrifting together with mom, when I came across these ornaments. They had two boxes full of items in excellent condition, with this silver/ivory shimmer, and an unmarked bauble that contained small white snow-like pompoms. I sat on the small set of ornaments and thought of the clever idea of using them as place cards. My mom and I could not be more amazed at the creative brilliant person I am until I was standing in line for payment and I glanced around and was able to see the written message on the box, which clearly identified them as ornaments for place cards. It’s no wonder that these tiny decorations “gave me an idea” to make them into an ornament LOL. They’ve got a flat base and an open ring which is unique to them, and they sit nicely on a platter, but I’m sure you could create something similar using the traditional round bauble using the right imagination!

Adam and I are both avid players of records when having guests over, but expanding the collection by purchasing new albums can be expensive. I perused the vast collection of vinyl of my neighborhood Value Village location and was delighted to discover some great Christmas selections! I ended up getting an instrumental organ and chimes treasure and it’s still in its original packaging which means it’s in perfect condition. I’m shocked that I’ve never thought of checking out the collection of vinyl records I’ll definitely carve some more time to go through them on the future Value Village visit!

A Christmas gathering would not be complete without a festive outfit. Check out this G.O.A.T value Village Find from the thrift store (in my own closet at least). I talked about it in my last post But seriously isn’t she stunning? I can’t wait to be in this dress for the next couple of weeks!
