AN HONEST REVIEW OF THE TOPSHOP STRAIGHT RAW HEM JEANS
I was so envious of denim that I ordered a pair online two months after the birth. Is this a good idea or was it a huge self-sabotage?
To ease the burden for this weird body experience immediately after having a child I had intended to get bigger in some essentials. However, thrifting is not impossible for me right now and I’ve looked at some other budget-friendly alternatives on the internet.
First mission: wearing jeans. Oh what I’ve missed! My maternity denim was a hit for a couple of weeks however, they’re now falling down, and without bumps to support them. A couple of pairs from my skinny stretchy pants are comfortable for me however only when standing LOL. When I sit down they’re tight, I’m worried that my stomach will snap the button off and the jeans will fly away. This is a danger to the safety of my family in the real sense.
TOPSHOP Canada recently had a denim sale for $100 and I was carrying a gift card so I utilize it. Let me begin by pointing out that I own the jeans with the size of my “regular” dimension. We don’t know what the size will be in the future If you’re new on the scene I used to be an size 10/Size 30, to 31 with denim. I have this pair of TOPSHOP Straight High Rise Jeans with a waist size of 32 inches (I always need to go up a size when I wear TOPSHOP denim) that you can view in this and these. In essence, I didn’t go completely off the beaten path when I placed an order online. I was aware of the quality of these jeans before and wanted to see if just moving up a size would be sufficient for me at the moment.
I absolutely love the jeans. They are a perfect length for a cut hem (I’m barely 5’5” to give you a rough idea) as well as they match my hourglass shape as if they were made for me. They’re snug with a denim that is strong enough to feel secure and not feeling like I’m squeezing my waistband. There is a tiny amount of stretch that is essential for mobility, but it also means that I need to wash them more frequently because my knees tend to stretch out after a couple of wears.
The size 34 was perfect with my post-partum bump that may remain Only time will tell. I was a fan of the high waisted bottoms I wore before but this cut is still working for me. I’m pleased with the purchase and am hoping to start to eliminate my daily leggings and feel more like me shortly.
Outfit Details and Fit Notes:
Topshop Mid Raw Denim Straight High Rise Jeans with Hems
The method TOPSHOP size their jeans I tend to increase my size (previously I was a 30/31, and was a 32. After having a baby, I got the 34 shown above). They’re a high-quality fit denim that has a hint of stretch. Since they’re so well-constructed I wouldn’t consider them as a staple postpartum garment. In the end I was looking for something that fitting as a preference and I’m sure many of you who read this post aren’t in the exact same position at this moment. If you weren’t just a couple of minutes ago I would suggest these pants!
TOPSHOP Roll Sleeve T-Shirt
I own this t-shirt in five different colors It’s so great. A little cropped and boxy. I cut down my size and received the size I wanted in a S/M (I’m usually a size L).
Jacket Joe Fresh Duster Jacket
It’s an old design that is part of Their S/S 2019 Collection, but they do have a similar duster in stock which could be more comfortable (I am not a fan of bows on this style to be too heavy). I love this type of light jacket that is soft and mid-length to wear with jeans and a tshirt I think it’s an essential!
Shoes White Keds Champion Originals Leather
I bought these for our baby shower to replace my old canvas Vans and I am in love with these! Insoles are soft, lightly cushioned and the exterior leather is much more easy to clean than canvas.
Scarf | One Wednesday Leopard Universal Throw
It is currently backordered, but they have other fantastic styles available! This is an excellent piece to have in your collection. It’s a fashionable piece to layer for me, or as a gorgeous blanket for your baby!
